Description

A flavorful Thai salad featuring grilled beef, fresh herbs, and a spicy dressing.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak)
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 tomato, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to high heat.
  2. Season beef with fish sauce and chili flakes.
  3. Grill beef for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  4. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  5. In a bowl, combine lime juice, sugar, and remaining fish sauce.
  6. Toss the sliced beef with the dressing.
  7. Add onion, mint, cilantro, cucumber, and tomato; mix well.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for a different flavor.
  • Adjust the level of chili flakes to taste.
  • Serve with sticky rice for a complete meal.
