Enjoy these delicious Spanish meatballs simmered in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
  3. In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add meatballs back to the skillet and cook in the sauce for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with bread or over pasta.

Notes

  • These meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen.
  • For extra flavor, add some fresh basil before serving.
