- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
- In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
- Add meatballs back to the skillet and cook in the sauce for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve hot with bread or over pasta.
Notes
- These meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen.
- For extra flavor, add some fresh basil before serving.
