- 2 large egg yolks

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt over medium heat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until smooth.
- Once the milk mixture is hot but not boiling, slowly whisk a small amount into the egg yolks to temper them.
- Gradually add the egg mixture back into the saucepan, whisking constantly.
- Cook the mixture, whisking continuously, until it thickens and bubbles.
- Remove from heat, then stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
- Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes and let cool.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
