- 12 large button mushrooms
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems.
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and mix in breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes, oregano, and the beaten egg until well combined.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the sausage mixture.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicy kick, use hot Italian sausage.
- Can be prepared a day in advance and baked before serving.
