Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa powder.
  2. Add milk and butter, and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring, then remove from heat.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract, chocolate chips, and nuts if using.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan and let cool completely before cutting into squares.
