- 1 pound gnocchi
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, basil, and oregano, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked gnocchi and Parmesan cheese to the sauce, and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- This dish can be made in under 30 minutes.
- For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative.
- Add vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms for added nutrition.
